Workmate 79-001 Parts & Repairs

As you would expect, some of the most common questions about vintage Workmates concern replacement parts and repairs. No original parts are available through Black & Decker for the Workmate 79-001 or other models from the 1970's or early 1980's for the U.S. and the UK. Perhaps one day someone will discover a treasure trove of new-old-stock parts somewhere. If you hear of one, please let me know!

You'll see four main strategies I suggest if you need parts:
  • Search on eBay. Quite a few original parts are available from sellers who have scavenged them from vintage Workmates.
  • Search for equivalent modern parts. For example, see my recommendations for replacement feet and vise handles.

  • Look for 3D printed parts, or model files to print them. There are many of these available for vintage Workmates.
